For years I’ve been searching for a place that I can get the best of both worlds when getting my haircut. The barbers that gave me fades back in the service set the bar quite high. Those guys and gals could handle a set of clippers!! Since then I’ve run into 1 of 2 places...either a salon who has pretty high prices, offers great service, but can’t give you a fade that looks any good...or a barber who is open only during business hours mon-fri and could care less how valuable your time is.
Last week, I decided to give the J. Arthurs Salon a try. It’s right across the street from Bailey’s Chocolate Bar on Park Ave in the heart of Lafayette Square. The owner James greeted me, welcomed me into his salon, and gave me a perfect fade! He is an artist!! The best part is the service he offered is top notch. He’s easy to talk to, down to earth, knows his stuff, and really cares about the customer experience. The prices are pretty darn good too for a full-service salon. Not looking for a fade, this guy and his team can do it all!! Men’s and women’s cuts, color, nails, massages, facial, etc. My only disappointment is that I never gave it a try before. The J. Arthurs Salon has been in that location for 2 years, but I always thought “Nah...no one there will know how to hook me up with a tight fade”. I’m so glad I stopped by...and I’ve already got another appointment for next week. :}
